Improving  education

Chicago Teacher’s union

I am very much in support of teachers, and I really care about improving student education. And part of improving education is to ensure that there is a more direct relationship between funding and improved student outcomes, and I believe that the CTU has too much influence in our politics, and engages in rent-seeking behavior. My goal is to make sure that classrooms are a productive environment for all students to learn, no matter their background or family income.

Enhancing STEM Education and Digital Literacy

I am a software engineer, and one of the best decisions that I made was taking some of the upper level math and programming courses that were available to me. I will focus on significantly enhancing STEM education and digital literacy from elementary through high school levels. By integrating advanced technology and coding into the curriculum, offering teacher training in STEM fields, and establishing partnerships with tech companies for resources and internships, I aim to foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving. This approach will not only improve educational outcomes but also ensure our youth are prepared for the high-tech jobs of tomorrow, and that their skills lead them to be competitive on the world stage.

Expanding Access to Early Childhood Education

Studies show that access to quality early-life education is strongly predictive of later performance. There’s many kids out there who are never even given a chance to succeed because they aren’t put in an environment to read and learn early on. By investing in preschools and early learning centers, especially in underserved communities, I aim to provide all children with the opportunity to develop essential cognitive, social, and emotional skills from a young age. This initiative will not only prepare children for academic success but also level the playing field, ensuring every child, regardless of their background, has a strong start in life.
